Python is a programming language that lets you work more quickly and integrate your systems more effectively. You can learn to use Python through a number of free online tutorials, and according to Python.org “see almost immediate gains in productivity and lower maintenance costs.” Python has an OSI-approved open source license, which means it’s free to use, even for commercial products (great for startups); and it runs on Windows, Linux/Unix, Mac OS X, and has been ported to the Java and .NET virtual machines.

Python.org has just finished a redesign of their website, and it looks pretty amazing.
