A new startup networking group has come to Orange County, called Free Lunch Fridays (FLF). Aimed at the entrepreneurs who are actively working on their projects, the group meets once a month at noon on a Friday, of course. Serving a “free lunch” and highlighting a speaker of interest to the community, the group fosters a general networking vibe without a specific agenda. The meetings in Orange County are currently held an ROC in Newport Beach, a new co-working space catering to startup teams and entrepreneurs. The speaker in March, 2013 was Patrick Vlaskovits, the author of The Lean Entrepreneur, How Visionaries Create Products, Innovate with New Ventures, and Disrupt Markets. Patrick spoke briefly on the ways disruptive business changes the country.
A lively discussion of ideas and current projects came before and after the speaker.
According to FLF: Free Lunch Friday believes that in order to feed our global economies, we need to start by feeding our startups and entrepreneurs. To that end they hold meetings where startups and entrepreneurs can gather on the last Friday of every month for real human interaction and community. You can connect with startups, entrepreneurs, mentors, experts, partners, and investors all while enjoying some free, beer, and community.
If you are interested in attending one of the gatherings, you can check Startupmanship’s Calendar of Events for the next meeting.
